After the death of the holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his holy progeny), Muslims have two options for seeking guidance from. The ahlulbayt (family) of the holy Prophet. Others. The holy ahlulbayt are those family members of the holy Prophet who grew up in his blessed lap. Islam, Qur'an and the shari'ah were revealed in their house. The angels descended with the blessings, mercy and salutations from Allah into their house. Muslims are obligated to send blessings upon their holy Prophet and his holy progeny in their their daily prayers/salat/namaz. The holy Prophet left behind him the Book of Allah, the holy Qur'an and his holy progeny. Allah testifies of the purity, cleanliness, infallibility and perfection in the holy Qur'an. The holy progeny of the holy Prophet are the heirs of the holy Prophet's knowledge, wisdom and characteristics. They are the best examples and role models after the holy Prophet. The holy Prophet loved them the most and they loved him the most. Who can understand Islam, Qur'an, shari'ah, the sunnah of the holy Prophet and so on better than the people of the house? As regards others, we are not sure of the source of their knowledge, information, understanding and guidance on Islam. If I want to know anything about Christianity, would I study books written on Christianity by a Buddhist scholar? Would I approach a Buddhist scholar to enlighten me on Christianity? Would I go to a Buddhist temple and expect to learn about Christianity there? Of course not. If I want to know anything about any faith/religion/school of thought, I need to study their authentic books, sit down with their respectable scholars and also visit their place of worship. Above all, I need to be open minded, academic and free of prejudice. The truth of the matter is that the vast majority of people are victims of prejudice, brainwashing, ignorance, misconceptions and misinformation when it comes to the school of the holy ahlulbayt (family) of the holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon them all). People need to study the biographies of personalities like the holy Prophet, his beloved daughter Fatima, her husband Ali and their sons Hasan and Husain (peace and blessings be upon them all).
